Alyx's Matthew Williams has been in the streetwear, music and art industry for over a decade - most notably having been a co-founder of Been Trill, collaborating with the likes of Nick Knight and along the way, having done time as creative director for both Kanye West and Lady Gaga. He then decided to pursue his dream of launching a fashion label, and in 2015, launched Alyx (named after his daughter) as a women's line that channeled a street-smart aesthetic featuring unique basics and a focus on technical functionality. Alyx's menswear line only launched in 2017, but has already birthed a number of hit items - such as the chest rig and roller coaster belt. 

William's latest menswear collection consists of bomber jackets, leather jackets, chest rigs and such, showing the influence of authority that was taken to create the pieces. The colors stay quite neutral and plain with only very few pieces with color, however, the graphics are what enhances these items. While the graphics are simple, they stand out enough to lure you to take a closer look. The signature safety belt buckle doesn’t shy away from this collection either. They are after all, what gives these bags their edge. Interestingly enough, their infamous safety belt buckle comes from Six Flags. He was so focused on the safety belts on rides that he traced the manufacturer down and later started customizing hardware with them.

Once again, Matthew Williams has outdone himself. The collection as a whole has a utilitarian vibe with pieces that are bound to stand out. Most importantly, his passion is reflected throughout the items of the collection. The pieces are available now at JUICE and on CLOT.com.
