The Nike M2K Tekno Drops Soon

As sneaker manufacturers continue to ride the wave of “dad shoes,” detailed photos were released of Nike’s upcoming M2K Tekno (Style AO3108-001). The model was initially previewed during New York Fashion Week in February at the show for John Elliott’s A/W 2018 ready-to-wear collection, in which he also debuted his first women’s line. Essentially just an updated, redesigned version of Nike’s best-selling Air Monarch IV, the M2K Tekno is Nike’s response to the ongoing trend of chunky midsoles and wide toe boxes, competing with other popular releases from Balenciaga, Raf Simons, and adidas Yeezy.

New Monarchs....

The first colour way to be released is already being dubbed “Phantom,” with accenting colours of Olive Grey, Matte Silver, and Hyper Crimson. The outsole of the shoe remains the same as that of the Monarch, with the front-most portion being grey, split with a black section below the heel. The off-white upper and midsole have a slightly different design layout, although you can clearly see the inspiration from its forefather. Stand-out features of the shoe include an abundance of double-needle stitching and paneling, the bright orange (officially Hyper Crimson) heel counter, and the medium-sized swoosh on the medial paired with an even smaller swoosh under the ankle collar.

The pending first wave of release will be only in women’s sizing. Keep an eye out on CLOT.com and your nearest JUICE store for more information on men’s renditions, which will likely be scheduled for a release date later in 2018.
