Bandulu Street Couture takes what is the specific essence of ‘street culture’ in the ideas of bootlegs, fakes, and ghetto lifestyle, and fuses them into vintage pieces. The brand takes old pieces and repurposes them through hand embellishments and detailing, breathing life into vintage. This collaboration with Converse is one that is expected, the brand’s shoes are some of the timeless and classic pieces the world has ever seen - the enduring and adaptable Chuck Taylors have been around since 1917.

The classic Chuck Taylor shoes from Converse have been some of the most flexible shoes, having been adopted by many cultures from basketball heads, skaters, to people in the streets. This collaboration wanted to pay homage to the idea of old-school culture through Bandulu Street Couture’s interpretation of craft and artistry. The signature silhouettes revisited in this collab were the timeless Chuck 70 and classic Pro Leather shoes. The Chuck 70’s were adopted in a “Brown” silhouette with Bandulu’s paint-splatter details and hand embroidery in various playful hues of pink and blue. The Pro Leather shoe was reimagined in a clean “Tan” colorway with more of the Bandulu’s playful paint detailing on the toecap and upper of the shoe.
