CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 “K.O.D.” - SOLAR RED: The Evolution

CLOT and Nike have delved into CLOT's archives to reissue arguably one of CLOT's most fabled shoe designs that was never put into mass production. The extremely rare Air Max 1 “Kiss Of Death” in Pink is nothing short of legendary. It was first designed exclusively for and worn by Kanye West during his “Touch The Sky” tour stop in Hong Kong in 2006, a show that was hosted by CLOT Founder Edison Chen and Kevin Poon. With only a few known pairs in existence, the shoe caused a stir in the industry. Fans began making their own with Nike’s now-defunct NikeiD program customization - forcing Nike to halt production of this specific color combination. Edison and Nike worked closely to iD the original design - making only 6-8 pairs in the world.

15 years after its conception, the brand is set to reissue it for the very first time by bringing new energy to the silhouette. Presented in an iteration inspired by the archival shoe design, the CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 “K.O.D.” - Solar Red is saturated in a bright neon pink hue and muted grey tones - a throwback to both the original and NikeiD color combo fans recreated.

Additionally, CLOT has now modernised its latest iteration of the renowned silhouette. The shoe is now built with premium leather upper-panels in bold neon-pink, whilst the silver toecap has been swapped for a lighter, more breathable grey mesh. The heel tab receives a technical upgrade and boasts reflective technology to highlight the golden embroidery, an homage to CLOT’s Chinese heritage and a feature seen throughout the 2021 “K.O.D.” trifecta. On the sole, air bubble on the midsole is now transparent, showcasing Nike's Air Max technology and the outsole has been revamped in translucent icy-blue.

Without a doubt, the most iconic feature fans will remember is the cursive "CLOT" lettering that was stamped on the grey mudguard - this differentiated the NikeiD iterations from the original. CLOT fans can finally get their hands on one of the most rarest sneakers with the iconic "CLOT" cursive lettering now debossed on the side. The evolution of CLOT is also reflected in the minor details, however the brand has never strayed from its mission to bridge the East and West. The original Air Max shoe was equipped with a NikeiD shoe box and a matching flannel storage bag, whilst the updated shoe box comes complete with CLOT's brand aesthetic. Referencing Ancient Chinese books as their inspiration, the packaging features Air Max One calligraphy written by veteran rapper, MC YAN.

On June 20, the CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 “K.O.D.” - Solar Red will only be available at official JUICE locations worldwide, online and through special pop-up activations.
