Hedi Slimane Heads to Céline with a New Mission
Big news for men's fashion and the worlds of couture and beauty. Luxury giant LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton announces that Hedi Slimane has been appointed as Artistic, Creative and Image Director at Céline starting from February 1, 2018. The official release stated that "Hedi Slimane’s talent and his remarkable ability to anticipate and express in a unique way the evolutions and desires of his age, will ensure a further era of exceptional growth and development for this famous Maison."
Known as one of the most successful designers of his generation, the former Dior Homme and Saint Laurent designer will be filling in the shoes of Phoebe Philo. The iconic LVMH-owned French label will be moving into new territories in Slimane's lead, developing men's wear, couture and fragrances. Hedi Slimane shares that: “I am delighted to join Bernard Arnault in this all-embracing and fascinating mission for Céline. I greatly look forward to returning to the exciting world of fashion and the dynamism of the ateliers."
Hedi Slimane's first show for Céline will combine women’s wear and men’s wear and will be presented in September.
