The Benchmarks of Craftsmanship: CLOT Spring Summer 2020 Collection
CLOT continues its foray into material innovation with its latest Spring/Summer 2020 collection. As more customers seek to extend the lives of their beloved items, CLOT shifts its focus to the construction of its designs, delivering elevated styles in premium materials sourced and made in Japan and Italy.
Over the years, the brand has collaborated with a number of Japanese designers and artisans, bringing forth some of the most iconic collaborations to date. Recognizing the local's unmistakable craftsmanship and unwavering commitment to excellence, CLOT began sourcing and producing key items from its seasonal collection in Japan. This season, the brand has turned to Italy for a selection of designs - a country that has remained at the forefront of fashion with centuries of rich heritage.
This Spring/Summer 2020, CLOT’s Creative Director Edison Chen wanted to encapsulate the Ancient Egyptian's approach to fashion and contemporize it in a way that’s familiar to him and the modern world. A heavy use of patterns and layering is seen throughout the CLOT SS20 collection, playing with new textures and cuts in high-end materials.
Steering its focus to the construction of their designs, the brand delivers an entire collection made with the finest materials. Notable pieces to watch out for are the made-to-sew items from Japan, using a medley of premium cotton textiles and richly woven jacquard knits - featuring exceptional textures, high breathability and exceptional technique from EGUAG Knitwear's Photricot technology (seen on the Pyramid Knit Beanie and Tropical Pyramids Pullover). From the newest arrivals, the Paint Splatter Hoodie is crafted from Italian cotton and is beautifully finished by hand - a teaser for more elevated selections to come as the season progresses.
