Tattoo, Art & Fashion - Hideaway @ Suite X & Black Weirdos

There has always been a correlation between tattoo artistry and fashion, whether it be through inspiration or transformation between the two, here are examples of brands whose founders have cultivated their skills to create their respective fashion brands - Hideaway @ Suite X and Black Weirdos.

Black Weirdos built a cult following in its home of Japan thanks to dynamic graphics and bold pieces blending into a beautiful array of wardrobe staples. Founders MAGDRON and Megumu Kamata are both creatives in a similar field, MAGDRON an illustrator and Kamata a tattoo artist. Kamata’s pieces are commonly seen in the style of psychedelic and playful imagery, and this clearly resonates in the style of the clothes that the two founders make. Delving deeper into Kamata’s style, you can see in his tattoos inspiration taken from many different places for example, American traditional, traditional Japanese, surrealism, new school and more commonly a blend of the latter. MAGDRON as an illustrator, from what I’ve seen, has typically been surrealism in black & white style, and by the unique and striking pieces he’s done thus far it's a no brainer seeing both these incredible artists work together.

Concurrently, celebrity tattoo artist Dr. Woo started making waves in the fashion world, putting his world-renowned tattoo pieces onto clothing calling the brand Hideaway @ Suite X. This art tattoo style displayed in both his clothes and his tattoos is represented through a perfect dose of intricate fine-line black & grey pieces. Dr. Woo’s style of tattooing was born and raised out of L.A. through Chicano Mexican-American culture and he has triumphed in perfecting this style to the point of being one of the most in-demand tattoo artist legends to hit the scene.
