WACKO MARIA's Fall-Winter 2020 Collection Features More Animal Prints and Old-Style Silhouettes
The words that come to mind when viewing WACKO MARIA’s collection, eccentric and beautiful. Inspired by animal prints, comfortable materials, traditional values and old-school style, the unconventional use of its leopard print graphics and application of retrograde silhouettes really shine through.
The brand has never been shied away from the use of heavy animal graphics in its pieces, previously using the same on some of the garments in the collaborative collection with Carhartt WIP. This time instead of a mix of staple silhouettes between two powerhouses, it chose to use its own leading outlines that make the brand unique in its own right. A good example of such is the Leopard Army Type-2 Shirt in ‘Beige’, with its classic Japanese style playing on WACKO MARIA’s traditional roots and bold typography. Another perfect rendition of tradition would be the Tim Lehi / Mohair Cardigan in ‘Black’ which applies the customary dragon design embroidered on the sleeves of the outerwear. Other significant pieces include the Leopard Fleece Crewneck Sweatshirt and Sweatpants combo which come in both ‘Grey’ and ’Brown’. The pairing exploits the homely and snug material to create a more comforting experience, and also features its signature embroidered namesake branding. Finally, it wouldn’t be a WACKO MARIA collection without the classic Americana-inspired high-quality t-shirts, called the USA Body Crew Neck Type-3 T-Shirt in both ’Black’ and ’White’, the tees use the brand’s signature typography design which pays homage to the old-school American style.
