CLOT is taking us into the future with a new Nike release.

Both visionaries in their own right in pushing and bridging the boundaries of cultures, communities, and creativity, CLOT and Nike take their collaborative ventures to an all-time high with the introduction of CLOT x NIKE FLUX DUNK, scheduled to release on 18 March 2022.

‘Flux’ refers to a continuous change or movement—whether it is time, nature, or the constant change of situations, roles, and even dimensions in our everyday lives. For the latest Nike collaboration, CLOT Founder and Creative Director Edison Chen drew inspiration from the Yin-Yang philosophy of fluidity and harmony, calling everybody to embrace the change, and the harmony of now and the future. The result is a pair of phenomenal-looking CLOT x NIKE FLUX DUNK, wrapped in a spectacular lenticular design guaranteed to dazzle at a glance.

“The original concept was infusing a Yin and Yang philosophy of black and white. It’s predominantly silver right now, but actually, the ends of the spectrum are white and black, and the mixture of those in the middle is what causes this chrome-like silver effect on the shoe,” says Edison.

With a legacy of flowing through and unifying different communities and cultures since 1985, the iconic Dunk High silhouette was chosen as the base for the CLOT x NIKE FLUX DUNK design. The concept of fluidity is then expressed through a mesmerizing lenticular construction that stretches across the entire shoe, giving an optical illusion that triggers at every angle. The co-branded tongue, meanwhile, switches between CLOT and Nike logos when in movement, which makes it an unmissable highlight of the creation. To maintain the futuristic, out-of-this-world appeal, fabric overlays including the iconic Swoosh have been swapped out for complementing topstitches, before rounding up with a clean white sole unit and matching laces to tie up the ultra-sleek look.

“I have always had this fascination with lenticular since I was a child. When we started approaching the design, I thought about a shoe that would change and would catch your eye even if you’re standing across the street,” Edison explains. “The shoe, at every angle you move, gives you a different feel. The simplicity of the colorway and the subtleness give a very contemporary view of what a shoe might look like in the future,” he added.

Releasing along with the CLOT x NIKE FLUX DUNK is an exclusive collectible card collection, coming in six lenticular designs to echo with the shoe. Scattered within the card release are two special versions autographed by Edison Chen, including a limited edition and an exciting ultra-rare version. Every pair of Flux Dunk will come with one card, distributed at random.
