Kitsuné x NBA's First Ever Collaboration Comes to JUICE LA and Hong Kong
Kitsuné launches its first-ever collaboration with NBA, tapping into its roots to create a mix between music, fashion and sports. Co-founders and creative directors Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki sharing an affinity for the game of basketball, present a ready-to-wear capsule collection inspired by NBA. The joint “Kitsuné America 5” mixtape comes in a double vinyl edition with music from the brand's favourite new American artists from hip-hop to electronic music.
For the collaboration logos, the NBA’s red, white and blue iconic logoman appears in black and white, while Kitsuné’s logo is revamped using the NBA’s taller, leaner typeface. The fashion-forward capsule collection includes 15 unisex sporty designs all made in Japan. Uniting the world of fashion and basketball, the collection is inspired by outdoor basketball courts, bringing the game to the streets. NBA's colourful aesthetic is given an urban flavour in the capsule, with oversized silhouettes, loose cuts and muted colour tones of grey, ecru and white. The 15-piece collection includes a T-shirt featuring the 30 NBA team's logos, contrasting patchwork cotton shirt, bleached black denim western jacket, a grey coach jacket and more.
