BRAIN DEAD COMES TO LIFE FOR THE EIGHTH DROP
Bringing rebellious and underground lifestyles to the forefront, counter-culture heavy hitters BRAIN DEAD return yet again to release their Drop 8 collection. Inspired by skateboarding, comics, and post-punk music, the Los Angeles art and design collective helmed by duo Kyle Ng and Ed Davis breathe life into streetwear by remaining edgy and staying true to their roots.
This graphic-dense release sees a series of short-sleeved and long-sleeved tees, hoodies, crew neck jumpers, and a handful of five-panel snapback hats featuring branded embroidery. Other notable garments include the resin-coated chore coat with patch pockets, corduroy collar, and removable velcro patches; and the baggy “Mixed Feelings” print oxford shirt and complimentary tapered seersucker pants.
The fit for many of the items are oversized, relaxed, and boxy - not dissimilar to the aesthetic that was popular in the '80s and '90s when such subcultures originated and peaked. A softer colour palette includes dull plum, mustard, burnt orange, and washed blue, amongst a few other similar hues.
BRAIN DEAD hails from the City of Angels, and they proudly sew and manufacture many of their garments and accessories in LA. Select pieces from the collection are available on the CLOT online store now, and they can also be purchased at JUICE locations.
