“CHANGE THE GENERATION” CULTURE MEETS CREATIVITY IN CLOT SPRING SUMMER COLLECTION 2024
With the launch of the Spring Summer 2024 collection “CHANGE THE GENERATION”, CLOT honors the brand’s past, present, and future as an icon of Chinese streetwear on the global stage.
Co-designed by CLOT Founder and Creative Director Edison Chen with fashion designer Humberto Leon, the selection builds upon the brand’s 20 years of fashion innovation on various fronts, welcoming three new lines and a fresh twist on signature aesthetics in apparel and accessories.
A fusion of Eastern and Western inspirations, “CHANGE THE GENERATION” draws from elements of Chinese tradition, martial arts films, and contemporary athleisure. Floral and butterfly motifs are applied using a range of creative techniques including spray paint, calligraphy, and sketching. With relaxed yet dynamic lines, the collection contrasts a spring palette of yellow, pink, light purple, and light blue against deeper shades of military green and navy blue for a sense of depth and vibrancy.
CLOT’s creative spirit is reflected in three lines debuted this season: womenswear, in-house footwear, and handbags. In particular, the handbags showcase Leon’s creative brilliance through his blend of 1970s design and traditional Chinese influences. The womenswear line celebrates a mix of styles, silhouettes, and textures, with the cropped jacket-and-skirt set borrowing from CLOT’s iconic menswear tailoring. Silk bows appear on caps and blouses, while mesh, faux leather, leather and silk details elevate handbags, blazers, and kimonos.
“Bringing in Humberto was a conscious way of saying we want to get even more serious about our fashion, our in-line, our design,” shared Edison Chen. “He brought to the table that he thought that we should do women's. After delving a little deeper into womenswear, I felt like maybe there's an angle we could represent that isn't prevalent in the market.”
Completing the ensemble are CLOT’s accessories of the season, brimming with just as much character. The statement pieces, which include handbag chains, chain belts, and bracelets, are made to adorn a wide range of styles, from casual chic to graceful elegance.
