Recap: JUICE Los Angeles Grand Opening!
The 17th of July 2021 saw the success of the official grand opening of international creative sanctuary - JUICE, in its new Los Angeles location. Featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by Founder and multi-hyphenate creative, Edison Chen, and the JUICE LA team. The event spotlighted, in classic JUICE fashion, traditional Chinese lion dancing; in order to bring good fortune and prosperity following the stores grand opening, also providing food, drinks, and live music to friends, family and visitors alike.
JUICE Los Angeles has further embraced its ethos of bringing a new ambiance to retail, providing a cultural space to hang out and vibe with like-minded individuals. Situated in the center of Downton Los Angeles, the streetwear & art design haven is reminiscent of a contemporary art museum carried with Kuumba's calming fragrances. The in-store art pieces, accessories, and clothes were curated by Edison Chen himself, with some even derived from his never-before-seen personal collection. The retail space gives art lovers and streetwear fanatics a place to come in and enjoy the pieces on display, stunt your personal style, meet fellow creatives, and maybe even cop a wardrobe upgrade from the vast selection.
Established in Hong Kong in the early 2000s, the retail store has established a cult following of devoted streetwear enthusiasts thanks to its close relationship with Hong Kong-based street fashion label CLOT. Having adopted CLOT's ethos of East meets West, JUICE Los Angeles sought to provide the West with some of the most renowned selection of garments from around the world, with selections from major Asian fashion hubs like Shanghai, and Tokyo - curated by CLOT Founder Edison Chen and Kevin Poon.
The official JUICE Los Angeles opening coincided with the sought-after release of the latest CLOT and Nike collaboration; the CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 K.O.D. "Solar Red", marking the final release of the Air Max 1 "Kiss Of Death" trilogy. With that in mind, JUICE Los Angeles had no such shortage of sneaker-heads and streetwear-lovers at the event (with maintained safe practices), marking a successful monument since the pandemic began in early 2020. JUICE Los Angeles marks the first location outside of Asia, with stores already established in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Chengdu, Taipei and Taichung - hinting at the possibility of future expansions further into the West.
