China's national animal and global conservation icon, giant pandas are a representation of peace, harmony, and friendship in many ways. Taking inspiration from these rare black and white treasures, CLOT and Converse have teamed up to release a Panda Pack to spread love, positivity, and environmental awareness across the globe.

"The giant panda is something that we relate to, obviously because of our Chinese heritage and culture. Being able to do something to give love and gain awareness for Panda in response to WWF’s International Panda Day in China is very important and a part of the new CLOT aesthetic, which is loving and trying to preserve the earth so that the future can enjoy its beauty," says CLOT Founder and Creative Director Edison Chen.

A follow-up to the polar bear-inspired Ice Cold Pack from 2019, the new CLOT x Converse Panda Pack once again spans two classic styles—the Chuck 70 Hi and Jack Purcell Ox—reimagined with a mixed-material construction for intriguing texture play, and of course, distinctive panda-inspired black and white colorway.

The CLOT x Converse Chuck 70 Hi comes in a mixed-material construction of hair-on-hide leather and faux fur in pure white tones, with furry All-Star patch and terry cloth tongue in contrasting black to recall iconic panda hues and its cozy, cuddly texture. The semi-transparent white sole, meanwhile, features a panda paw print on the outsole for an irresistible touch, whereas the micro-suede interior and back zip closure contribute to maximized wearability and comfort.

The CLOT x Converse Jack Purcell Ox, on the other hand, features hair-on-hide upper, faux fur tongue, and rubber toe cap in white shades, with a panda-inspired paw print on the outsole to complete. Both silhouettes come with black and white laces and a shoe box design that spotlights the Giant Panda for added incentives.

Adhering to the message of spreading care and optimism towards communities worldwide, CLOT and Converse have prepared a campaign video showing our CLOT Panda mascot, Ning Ning (凝凝), donning the CLOT x Converse Panda Pack as it goes on a series of fun adventures filled with warm encounters in the human world.

“I think that Ning Ning is a representative of the lighthearted, cute, fun, daring, trying-to-be-accepted, which is really how a lot of people are in this world right now—learning new things but trying to be accepted at the same time and trying to spread love. You're going to be seeing the panda a lot here and there, so it's really our CLOT mascot,” says Chen.

The CLOT x Converse Chuck 70 Hi and Jack Purcell Ox are set for release at JUICE selling doors worldwide from November 11, 2022.
